Griner is back.
Her return wasn’t exactly a triumphant one, though she excelled as a player in the series, it was not enough to stop the Mercury from going down 0-2.
The Mercury as a team went 75% in free-throws, 31.3% in 3-pointers, and 41.1% in field goals.
In her first two games back Brittney Griner is averaging 22.5 points, 8 rebounds, & shooting 73% from the field.
Griner finished the afternoon with 27 points on just 13 shot attempts, she also brought in 10 rebounds. It was Griner’s first double-double since the Mercury’s 2021 playoff run.
Another great player on the Mercury was Diana Taurasi, who scored 16 points and Sug Sutton who came off the bench to score 13.

The Phoenix Mercury will now take on the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, back at the Footprint Center, with hopes of securing their first win of the season. Will Griner rally her team to push past this rough start?
