Phoenix Suns vs. Orlando Magic Game Preview, Odds, and Predictions

© Mike Watters- USA TODAY Sports

Later tonight the Phoenix Suns will be hosting the Orlando Magic in their final game during their homestand as they’re looking to get back in the win column after dropping three in a row to the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and Milwaukee Bucks.

The Suns in those three losses have given up more than 115 points in each of those games. The defense has been an issue for the Suns during this losing streak and they need to find a way to set the tone early and often tonight against the Magic.

Speaking of the Magic, they’re playing the second of their four-game western conference road trip. They’re coming off a 132-114 loss to the San Antonio Spurs and they have lost 4 of their last 5 games.

The last time these two teams played was in Orlando where the Suns lost 114-107 on November 11th. Since then, the Suns’ team looks way different as they now have Kevin Durant on their squad who is out with a left ankle injury, and no Mikal Bridges or Cameron Johnson now on their squad.

The Suns also have former Magic player Terrence Ross on their squad who they got a couple of months ago shortly after the trade deadline. This will be the first time Ross plays his former team this season after spending his last 7 seasons there as a player.

Odds For The Game:

Moneyline: Magic +250 (bet $100 to win $250); Suns -300 (bet $300 to win $100)

Over/Under: 228.5 (O: -108, U: -112)

Against the Spread: The Suns are favored at -7.5

Predictions:

Suns 124, Magic 109

I believe this is the game where the Suns’ defense gets back on track and wakes up. On the season the Magic are 12-22 on the road while the Suns are 22-12 at home. I’m expecting a huge night for Devin Booker and Terrence Ross who will be amped up to play his old team.

In terms of bets, I would bet the -7.5 for the Suns and the Over on 228.5 at -108.

Suns Got To Rely On Defense To Get Back To Their Winning Ways

Tip-off begins at 7 PM AZ Time at the Footprint Center.
