* Denver
* Houston
* Carolina
* Arizona— Matt Barrows (@mattbarrows) January 12, 2023
He was promoted to inside linebackers coach in 2018 and coached until 2020. Then, when 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Salah took the New York Jets head coaching job, Ryans was elevated to defensive coordinator. He has held the position for the last two years.
Under Ryans, the 49ers had the No.1 ranked defense in the NFL. They allow only 16.3 points per game and rank second in the NFL in rush yards allowed per game with 76.9
Ryans played in the NFL from 2006-2015 with the Houston Texans and the Philadelphia Eagles. He made the Pro Bowl in 2007 and 2009. Also, Ryans made first-team All-Pro in 2009 when he had 123 tackles.
