Pregame Notes Ahead of Suns Vs. Knicks

© Mark J. Rebilas- USA TODAY Sports

The Suns will be looking to get back in the win column as they will be facing the New York Knicks for a Sunday afternoon game at Footprint Center. Devin Booker is coming off a stellar performance against the Utah Jazz as he dropped 49 points on 16-31 shooting from the field but the team fell short due to a lack of three-point shooting. They are looking to have a bounce-back game against the Knicks tonight. Here are some takeaways from pregame.

Chris Paul In High Spirits Despite Being Out

Yesterday during practice Suns head coach Monty Williams says Chris Paul will be out for today’s game against the Knicks and will be re-evaluated next week. With this news, we will be seeing a lot of Cameron Payne in the starting lineup as he has been having a ton of success in the starting lineup. Despite all of this, Paul continues to be in good spirits as he’s nearing a return in the future weeks.

He was also seen dapping up teammate Devin Booker and conversating with his dad Melvin Booker pregame before the game. The Suns are desperately missing his leadership on the court, but his high spirits tell me that he will be nearing a return sooner rather than later.

Mitchell Robinson Looks Healthy Enough To Play:

Robinson who was questionable coming into today’s game with a sprained right knee seems to be good enough to play for today’s head-to-head matchup against the Suns. He seemed to be moving well and seems to be in line to play solid minutes today against the Suns.

Tip-off begins at 1:30 PM at FootPrint Center for today’s game.
