Phoenix finished the season 15-21 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Aces. The Mercury’s final ranking at the end of the season was seven. Phoenix dealt with a lot during the season the Brittney Griner situation, Tina Charles‘s contract divorce, and many injuries.

Still, the Mercury managed to make the playoffs, but could not overcome, Skylar Diggins-Smith, leaving the team for personal reasons and Diana Taurasi‘s injury right before the playoffs. So the off-season will be interesting for Phoenix; they only have three players under contract, Diggins-Smith, Diamond DeShields, and Brianna Turner. So it will be a new team playing in Phoenix next year.
