The Phoenix Suns have signed forward Ish Wainwright to a two-way deal, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Wainwright, 27, had been vying for a spot on the Suns roster as of late.
The Kansas City, Missouri native turned in an impressive summer league showing in July, which likely cause enticed Phoenix to offer Wainwright a deal.
Wainwright saw minor playing time during the 2021-22 season. He only averaged 8 minutes per game.
Even so, the undrafted forward was able to show vast improvements from the three-point range during summer league action.
The 6-foot-5 forward will be able to possibly fill out some valuable minutes and Phoenix continues to shape its roster. He’s shown considerable promise at the small-five spot.
