The Phoenix Suns tip off NBA Summer League action this week in Las Vegas; their first game will be on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Thomas & Mack Center at 7 P.M. Phoenix has 18 players on their roster, and 13 of them are rookies.

Louis King was last year’s Summer League MVP. He played for the Detroit Pistons and the Sacramento Kings in the NBA for three seasons. King never played more than ten games in a season. Last year in the G-league with the Stockton Kings, King averaged 18.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in six games. He shot 45% from the field and 41% from three-point land.
Ish Wainright 6-6 235 LBS
Ish Wainright played for the Suns last season and averaged 2.4 points on 39.4% shooting from the field in 45 games. Wainright is looking to improve in this year’s Summer League. He is the only player under contract on the Suns’ Summer League roster.
McKinley Wright IV 5-11 192 LBS
McKinley Wright IV was a standout player in his time with Colorado. He was three-time First-Team All-Pac-12. He spent some time with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season but shined in the G-League with the Iowa Wolves; he averaged 19.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game. McKinley shot 44% from the field and 34% from beyond the arc.
Asbjørn Midtgaard 7-0 270 LBS
Asbjørn Midtgaard is a 7-front center from Grand Canyon University; he led the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game, rebounds 9.7, and block shots 1.2 per contest. Midtgaard shot 70% from the field and should be interesting to watch in the summer.
