Ketel Marte, has been with the D-Backs for almost a decade, as Arizona traded for him in 2016 giving up the assets of Jean Segura, Mitch Haniger, and Zac Curtis. Marte has been a face of the franchise ever since, as he walks the walk and talks the talk. Marte was top five in MVP voting in 2019 and 2024.

In the last two seasons, Ketel Marte took home the NLCS MVP, and continued his hot streak into 2024. Marte was on fire as he hit .292/.372/.570 over 504 at-bats including a .932 OPS. It was also a career year for him in multiple categories, as he hit 36 home runs and 95 RBI’s. Not only was he a force at the plate and in MVP contention, his talents landed him an MLB All-Star game appearance and a Silver Slugger award.

General Manager Mike Hazen can add Ketel Marte to the long list of contract extensions he was excited to get done. Marte joins Geraldo Perdomo, Justin Martinez, and Brandon Pfaadt as the newest D-Backs to get their futures solidified.

The D-Backs have to be elated to keep their brightest star shining in the desert nights for years to come.
