Block, who passed at the age of 55 in January 2023 in a snowmobile accident, learned to drive his parents’ 1977 Ford F-150 growing up on a ranch in Southern California.

He was also passionate in skateboarding and screen-print shirts. That passion led him to become the co-founder of DC Shoes.

A 1977 Ford F-150 known as the “Hoonitruck” was sold for $990,000 on Saturday, Jan. 25, the eighth day of Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event, in Block’s honor.

Barrett-Jackson described the honor of being able to put this drift truck across the block in memory of the late rally driver on Facebook:

“Ken Block and Hoonigan inspired car enthusiasts all over the world, and having the Block family here while the “Hoonitruck” crossed the block at the 2025 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction was an honor.”
