WATCH: Grayson Allen bulked up in offseason, looking forward to 2nd year with Suns

Putting on some muscle ahead of the 2024-25 season, Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen spoke at media day on Monday on an array of topics.

The Suns acquired the 28-year-old Allen from the Milwaukee Bucks on Sept. 27 in the Deandre Ayton and Damian Lillard trade. Allen finished the regular season averaging 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks in 33.5 minutes in 75 games (74 starts). His 46.1% clip from deep was the best 3-point shooting percentage in the NBA.

During the playoffs, the Duke product sprained his ankle and was sidelined for Games 3 and 4 as the Suns were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-0 back in April.

Allen then signed a four-year, $70 million extension with Phoenix in April. With his former coach on the Bucks, Mike Budenholzer, being hired by the Suns, the two will reunite together. He will also link up once again with his former Duke teammate Tyus Jones, who signed in free agency.

Allen is projected to be coming off the bench after starting a majority of last season, with Jones, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkić looking to be the opening night starting five.

When taking questions from the media, he talked about embracing the sixth-man role, his early conversations with Budenholzer and how he fits on the roster, bulking up to 230 pounds this offseason, the team’s target to shoot more threes, building off his success from last year and why Jones will be a good acquisition for the team.
