After signing a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Phoenix Suns in the offseason, new guard Tyus Jones can’t wait to get this season started.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The 28-year-old Jones spent last season with the second-worst team in the NBA last season, the Washington Wizards. Washington was 15-67 in the 2023-24 season while he averaged a career-high 12.0 points and 7.3 assists per game.
He was the No. 24 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves and played four seasons there. The Duke product then signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019 before joining the Wizards last year.
Now, Jones will have arguably the best supporting cast he has ever had in Phoenix with the likes of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Jusuf Nurkić and Bradley Beal.
When appearing at Suns media day, Jones spoke about the Big 3, being ready to showcase his talent with the Suns, what it’s been like to see the team’s firepower in practice so far, helping Phoenix win, contributing to the Suns playing faster than last year, reuniting with former college teammate Grayson Allen and how Allen influenced him to join Phoenix, why he ultimately chose Phoenix in free agency and Phoenix already feeling like home.
