PHOENIX – Dillon Brooks apparently found a new way to troll LeBron James by eliminating him from the television entirely. The Phoenix Suns star teamed up with Kalshi for a commercial featuring Brooks as an infomercial salesman pitching the fictional “King Blocker 9000,” a device designed to block mentions of James from your television.

Thanks for inventing this, @Kalshi https://t.co/0yWhNRoYEz

Subtle? Absolutely not. Perfectly on brand? Completely. Brooks and James have exchanged words and physical play for years, turning what could have been an ordinary matchup into one of the NBA’s strangest personal rivalries. The commercial takes that pettiness somewhere new. Instead of waiting until the Suns and 76ers share a court, Brooks is leaning directly into his reputation, and the larger idea of “LeBron fatigue” after more than two decades of James dominating NBA conversations.

There is a Phoenix angle bigger than the joke, as Brooks has brought an edge the Suns desperately needed. His value isn’t limited to points, defensive assignments, or a box score. He gives Phoenix an identity. Every contender needs players who establish what opponents should expect emotionally before the opening tip. Brooks wants confrontation, and appears perfectly comfortable being the villain.

For Suns fans, the “King Blocker 9000” is funny because everyone understands exactly who is selling the fictional product. Brooks didn’t leave his personality behind when he arrived in Phoenix. The Suns bought the entire package, and increasingly, that attitude is becoming part of their culture.
