Gurriel Jr. has been on a tear in August, with game-tying home runs and two walk-offs under his belt. What has made him effective in this stretch for the D-Backs is his league-leading 32 RBIs this month.
With five games remaining, the outfielder has a chance to surpass Luis Gonzalez for the most RBIs in a calendar month for the Diamondbacks. Gonzalez is second with 35 RBIs from June 2001. J.D. Martinez holds the record with 36 from September 2017.
In August, Gurriel Jr. is batting .258 with seven home runs and 24 hits to go along with his 32 RBI.

He also has six home runs off fastballs 95 mph or faster and eight off breaking balls. Fourteen of his 19 home runs this season have come against those pitch types.
