GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals should absolutely answer the phone if teams call about Marvin Harrison Jr.; they just shouldn’t answer it by immediately accepting a bad offer. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that teams around the league are monitoring Harrison’s situation, with one team projecting his value as potentially a quality Day 3 pick. That would be an enormous discount for a player Arizona selected No. 4 overall in 2024.

The production, however, explains why the conversation exists. Harrison Jr. has only four catches for 73 yards through three games this season. After catching 62 passes for 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie and 41 passes for 608 yards and four touchdowns in 2025, his role has become increasingly difficult to understand. That doesn’t necessarily mean Harrison Jr. can’t become the player many expected him to be.

His struggles can be attributed to several factors, including quarterback changes, offensive fit, inconsistent involvement, and questions about his execution and energy. Arizona has also increasingly leaned on Trey McBride, while Michael Wilson has established himself as another important piece of the passing game. That’s precisely why the Cardinals should explore the market. Arizona doesn’t need to give Harrison Jr. away. It needs to determine whether another team believes a change of scenery could unlock the potential that made him one of the most highly regarded prospects in the 2024 draft.

If another franchise still values Harrison as a future No. 1 receiver, Arizona should use that belief to drive up the price. A Day 3 pick shouldn’t end the conversation, but a substantial package of draft capital could. The Cardinals have already invested heavily in McBride and Wilson, while Jeremiyah Love gives the offense another young cornerstone. Eventually, Arizona will have to determine where Harrison fits financially and strategically. The biggest mistake would be making the decision emotionally.

If Arizona can turn a struggling former No. 4 pick into significant future assets, it has to at least consider it. The question isn’t whether Harrison Jr. can still become a star; it’s whether Arizona should be the team waiting to find out.
