The Suns won the position battle early and were able to get more opportunities and shot attempts early. Winning the turnover battle to begin Wednesday night’s matchup helped Phoenix gain control as well. Devin Booker started slower than usual, but was still able to help lead Phoenix to come out with the lead at halftime. Relying on their role players has been paramount to Phoenix’s success when Booker either starts slow or has an off night. Dillon Brooks came on strong in the second quarter and ended the half with 18 points.

Even with all the injuries to the Memphis Grizzlies, they were still able to have guys like Santi Aldama and Jaren Jackson Jr., though they were without their star PG, Ja Morant. Memphis’ injuries are catching up to them, and this is a perfect opportunity for Phoenix to take advantage and get back in the win column.

If the Suns can keep their depth firing on all cylinders, expect their stars to turn it up in the second half to make sure they will be in a good position to come away with a victory on Wednesday night.
