GLENDALE – It’s no question that the Arizona Cardinals offense has improved in the past two weeks with backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Arizona has had back-to-back games of 330+ total scrimmage yards and has started to generate explosive plays. Brissett looks to be a more confident down the field passer than ever in his career, with one Cardinals wide receiver reaping the benefit of this fact.

Brissett’s insertion into the starting lineup has made that perception false, as Jones has become the team’s best deep ball receivers.

Jones highlight catch vs. Packers:
In the past two weeks, Jones has been the team’s leading wide receiver in yards with 79 and 67 respectively. This current stretch is the 30-year-old’s most receiving yards since December of 2022. With Brissett under center for two games, Jones doubled his career receiving yards with the Cardinals. He has had back-to-back games with 20+ receptions, including last Sunday with a 43-yard catch to set up the end of half touchdown.

The chemistry that Brissett-Jones share likely comes from the duo being looked as reserve players. Brissett backups usual starting quarter Kyler Murray, while in a run-heavy offense, Jones is off the field for half of the offensive snaps. Against the Indianapolis Colts, Jones was on the field for nearly 80% of the offensive snaps. leading to his career day.
Arizona’s bye week will open the door for Murray to make his return to the lineup vs. the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. The franchise has made it clear that Murray’s job is safe, which leads to many fans hoping that the two-time Pro Bowler can keep Jones’ success going regardless with who is under center.
