GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals current five-game losing streak is on historic level. In five losses, Arizona have a point differential of -13 points. The stretch is one of the smallest margin of losses in consecutive order in NFL history. Head coach Jonathan Gannon has had the tough job of going to the podium for the past month of losses to answer for these heartbreaking losses.

Gannon on the disappointment during this losing streak:
“A loss is a loss, but how are you losing? This might even sound worse, I know we’re close. It’s not like we’re getting the brakes beat off of us. But, we’re not doing enough. Ultimately that falls on me. I’m disappointed in myself because we have to figure out a better way.
“It’s terrible to be 2-5. It’s not where we wanted to be, not where we thought where we were going to be, but that’s in the past. We see that we’re near it, we just got to do better…Every losing coach I’m sure stands up here and says the same s–t, but until we do it, it’s going to keep happening.”

Despite the 2-5 record, Arizona only has a -1 point differential on the season. The differential ranks 17th in the NFL, with its record 26th in the league. Gannon isn’t wrong when saying the Cardinals are close, a couple of plays go the team’s way and they could have a winning record. However, that isn’t how the season has gone for the franchise that is heading into the bye week in terrible fashion.
