What did Suns star Devin Booker have to say about his former teammate Ayton:

Booker had some interesting comments when it came to his former teammate and the newest Los Angeles Lakers player, DeAndre Ayton. When asked about Ayton’s future in Los Angeles, Booker responded, “I mean, I guess we’ll just have to see.” (Credit: Dave McMenamin | ESPN) It wasn’t a shot and was more honest than sarcastic, though it still spoke volumes. Ayton’s past with the Phoenix Suns and their fans isn’t the best, as Ayton was one of the biggest reasons why the Suns didn’t end up winning the 2023 NBA Finals.

Ayton was traded from the Suns to the Portland Trail Blazers back in September of 2023, and then joined the Los Angeles Lakers on a $16.6 million two-year deal. Once known for his heroics in the 2023 Finals run for his role in the “Valley-Oop” play, has now become the “Valley-Opp” in Phoenix with his arrival with the rival Los Angeles Lakers.

One of the biggest storylines for Suns fans this season, when they play their rival in Los Angeles, will be how Ayton performs and how he responds to Booker. Not only will Booker have backup with the newest Suns stars Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks, but it will be a completely different era, and it might come with a little intensity.
