PHOENIX – The 2025-2026 season for Phoenix Suns superstar guard Devin Booker will be a fresh start, it just won’t be his first one. Since being drafted back in 2015, the four-time All-Star has been through many iterations of the roster. The lottery Suns, Valley Boyz, the Finals run and the Durant years. All had their highs and lows, but for Booker the past two years has been the toughest of his career, with him calling last year’s team “disconnected” on Arizona Sports’ Burns and Gambo show.

Booker on the Suns struggles for the past two years:
It’s not hard to understand the 28-year-old’s feelings, Phoenix was just coming off a Finals run and a franchise-high in wins. After the takeover of owner Mat Ishbia and the trade for Kevin Durant, the franchise has taken a hard turn from those peaks. Going from two wins away from lifting the Larry O’Brien to not even making the Play-In is a tough pill to swallow mentally.

Drama surrounded the team on every corner, none of which fell on the shoulders of Booker. The outside noises and the team’s struggles likely made the roster less connected, leading to the breakup this past offseason. Despite the hardships, the franchise-leader in points is still determined to bring a title to Phoenix.
Booker has “unfished business” with the Suns and remains committed to bringing an NBA title to the people of Phoenix. With 11 new players, most of which are younger, Booker has his work cut out for him. However, much like he has done his entire career, Booker is ready to embrace this new era of the franchise.
Suns owner Ishbia claims won’t measure team’s success on wins and losses in 2025
