Suns’ Owner Mat Ishbia originally commented on our article about ESPN and their views on the Suns, stating that they will eventually “tumble.” Mat Ishbia responded with, “I’m not worried about what the so-called experts think. They had us as a title contender the past two years and were wrong then. We’re focused on making our fans proud by playing great as a team and building a brand of basketball that’s tough and gritty.”

Phoenix Suns fans made their opinions known in support and with criticism, as they ran to Mat Ishbia’s X account to make sure their voices were heard. Certain Phoenix Suns fans made comments about the recent 20% price increase on tickets and voiced frustrations about the past two seasons. On the other side, Ishbia was met with support and hope for the future with the moves he has recently made.
How did Suns fans react to Suns’ Owner Mat Ishbia’s comments:
Still pissed at you for the 20% ticket price increase that we had to get rid of our season tickets after being season ticket holders for 55 years. But good tweet here 👍🏼

Matt let’s be honest, you tried to come in and make an immediate splash and you failed horrendously. You allowed coaching to put KD in a corner and made book the main ball handler. Terrible coaching and basketball.

Didn’t you think you were a title-contender? So what does your input about how to build the roster mean if people with actual experience as basketball talent evaluators are just “so-called experts” to you?

What an awful tweet.

We believe in our team. The last couple years proved that you’re better off developing the young, talented players. I think you guys have done a great job with trades and picks!

100% agree with this. Winning a championship isn’t easy and only 1 team claims that title at the end of the season. One of my favorite Suns teams was from 2013-2014. They didn’t make the playoffs. But you know what, they played their asses off every night and I respected that.

As a life long sports enthusiast living in Phoenix, having an owner who will push in all the chips and go for it far outweighs the alternative. I respect the aggressiveness, you have to dare to be great in life. I’m excited for the new beginning,

This upcoming season for the Suns just got a lot more interesting with Mat Ishbia’s quote and seeing how Suns fans are feeling for the future. The game plan is there, though it is about getting the right personnel to execute said plan. With the mixed reactions around the Suns fanbase, it is apparent that the next couple of seasons are massive for keeping the faith alive, and those voices from the valley are passionate ones.
