In the Burn City Sports article about the ESPN rankings (posted below), what was laid out was plain and simple: the NBA Insiders from ESPN do not feel that the Suns have what it takes to contend in the Western Conference. Whether that happens or not, only time will tell. Although Phoenix Suns Owner Mat Ishbia wanted his thoughts to be known, in support of his team’s growth after this shapeshifting offseason.

Mat Ishbia’s reaction to Burn City Sports’ article on ESPN Rankings:

“I’m not worried about what the so-called experts think. They had us as a title contender the past two years and were wrong then. We’re focused on making our fans proud by playing great as a team and building a brand of basketball that’s tough and gritty.”

Whatever the future holds for the Phoenix Suns, they have an owner who will stand by them no matter what anybody says. Earlier this season, there were a lot of critics negatively portraying how the Phoenix Mercury were going to perform this season, and they have been excelling in every category as of late. Ishbia will defend his players, staff, and fans every step of the way, and it shows.

The newly formed Phoenix Suns will sure have a lot to play for this upcoming season, and their identity will surely be formed from a hard-nosed and grind it out mentality.
