GLENDALE – ESPN has been releasing a series of polls by NFL executives, coaches and scouts of the top 10 players at each position. The Arizona Cardinals got love in previous polls, with Trey McBride ranked the 4th best tight end. However, in the latest quarterback ranking, team captain Kyler Murray went unmentioned, not even earning an honorable mention nod.

Was Murray disrespected in rankings?
Murray returned to his Pro-Bowl level this past season, ranking 11th in the league in passing yards (3,851) and 7th in completion percentage (68.8%). The 27-year-old is one of the premier dual threat quarterbacks in the NFL, ranking 4th at his position with 572 rushing yards. Despite being undersized, Murray’s quick feet and stellar decision-making more than makes up for the lack of height.

NFL QBs are a stacked field, with talent like Houston Texans CJ Stroud and Green Bay Packers Jordan Love being booted off the list as honorable mentions. Despite the depth at the position, Murray was listed at the bottom of the articles as “also receiving votes,” and show he wasn’t completely forgotten by scouts and execs.
Arizona has plenty of high expectations for the 2025 season, with high-class free agency signings in Josh Sweat and Calais Campbell looking to make an impact on defense. Next year will likely be Murray’s best defense he has had in his career, and could use that to propel his team to the playoffs for the second time in his career and potentially win his first postseason game.
