In the top of the eighth inning last night at Rogers Centre, Toronto pitcher Justin Bruihl caught Carroll on an inside pitch that hit right off of his left hand. As soon as it connected, you could hear a scream from Carroll as he was visibly in discomfort.

D-Backs Manager Torey Lovullo ended up deciding to leave him in the game, as Carroll looked like he was refusing to be removed from the game even down to the Blue Jays by an 8-1 score. Great news came back shortly after when Manager Torey Lovullo mentioned that Carroll’s x-rays came back negative. It has been reported too that Carroll was adamant about playing in Thursday afternoons matchup, although the D-Backs have elected to give Carroll some rest and try not to aggravate his bruised left hand. It would be another massive blow for the Diamondbacks if superstar Corbin Carroll were to miss time for this D-Backs ball club. This team has been hampered by injuries and anything more would be detrimental to the rest of the season. Arizona will look to stay away from the injury bug moving forward as they get ready to finish up a series in Toronto against the Blue Jays.
