The D-Backs came out firing in the first inning, as Lourdes Gurriel Jr. started things off with a double that scored Ketel Marte. Eugenio Suárez then smashed one to the deepest part of center field in what looked like it cleared the walkway. Arizona took a quick 3-0 lead and never looked back.

The Snakes avoided the sweep to the Nationals, but have lost four series in a row. Frustrations are mounting, and now it seems like the snakes have a serious problem on their hands after Corbin Burnes was pulled due to an injury after only 70 pitches.

The bullpen held their own, which was a pleasant sight to see for this Arizona ball club. Jalen Beeks and Christian Mena both only allowed one hit, while Shelby Miller and Justin Martine pitched two hitless innings. Martinez was feeling himself as he ended the game looking tremendously sharp.

Arizona has an off day on Monday, as they travel to Atlanta now for a three-game series at Truist Park against the Braves.
