Phoenix Mercury announce training camp roster and signings

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Mercury has announced its training roster ahead of the 2025 WNBA season and the signings of Megan McConnell, Helena Pueyo, and Temira Poindexter to training camp contracts.

McConnell has played five seasons at Duquesne University and earned Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year honors. She averaged 18.4 points, 7.2 rebounds 4.1 steals last season, which landed her first in the NCAA Division 1 in steals.

Pueyo played for the University of Arizona from 2019-2024 and finished as Arizona’s all-time leader in steals. She was the 22nd overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft before ultimately choosing to play in Spain for Basket Zaragoza.

Poindexter last played for Kansas State University and the University of Tulsa. She was named the 2024 AAC Player of the Year and was a two-time All-AAC First Team selection.

Some other key names on the training camp roster are Kahleah Copper, Natasha Mack and Kathyrn Westbeld.

With the season opener only a few weeks away on May 17, Mercury hopes to have its team set and ready to go for another dominant season.
