Showing that it’s not just the weather that is getting hot, Merrill Kelly turned in another terrific outing for the Diamondbacks as in six innings of work he only gave up three hits and one earned run. Kelly also struck out nine hitters in today’s contest against the Marlins. Connor Gillispie had no answers for the D-Backs today as he went five innings but gave up eight earned runs on eight hits.

Corbin Carroll had another incredible moment truly breaking this game open for Arizona, as he hit his third career grand slam in the top of the sixth inning. Carroll, smashing that one to the upper deck 434 feet, hit his sixth home run of the season as he went 2-5 in Tuesday’s matchup.

Geraldo Perdomo also kept up his hot streak hitting his 16th RBI on this season, which is now tied for sixth in the National League. The D-Backs got help from the bottom of the order as well, which needed to start producing. Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Eugenio Suárez, and Gabriel Moreno all got a single today as well, which is a good sign going forward hoping more support is on its way.

The D-Backs proudly represented the number 42 well today, as they always make sure to pay the utmost respect and honor Jackie Robinson’s legacy. The Snakes will take on the Marlins in Miami tomorrow in the second game of their three-game away series. First pitch will be at 3:40 p.m. MST at Loan Depot Field. Brandon Pfaadt will be on the mound for Arizona facing off against Max Meyer for Miami.
