Patrick Peterson won’t go into Cardinals Ring of Honor before teammate

GLENDALE –Arizona Cardinals legendary cornerback Patrick Peterson returned home to the desert to retire as a member of the franchise after a stellar 13-year NFL career. Peterson played a decade in Arizona, earning Pro Bowls, All-Pros, and many other awards as a lockdown cornerback in the Red Sea. The 34-year-old is a lock for the Cardinals Ring of Honor, being sixth all-time in franchise history in interceptions.

However, Peterson said he can’t go into the illustrious Ring of Honor before his fellow Hall of Fame teammate Larry Fitzgerald.

Peterson on who goes before him in Cardinals Ring of Honor:

A classy request for the teammates of over 10 years. Peterson was drafted to Arizona in 2011 and lined up head-to-head with one of the greatest wide receivers that has ever graced a football field in Fitzgerald. Coming in as a bright-eyed rookie, the opportunity to face a future Hall of Famer every day in practice matured Peterson into becoming the player he eventually morphed into throughout the years.

The duo were the face of the franchise for over a decade, Fitzgerald on offense and Peterson on defense. The duo was a beam of hope for the fans around the Valley, making the Cardinals a much-watched team in the mid-2010’s. Now, both are retired and will be in the Ring of Honor soon to come, but if Peterson gets his way, Fitzgerald will be up there very soon.
