Jackson originally committed to Maryland, but even before the program’s magical season, he decommitted back in November. The forward is the 81st-ranked prospect nationally on 247Sports, being the ninth-ranked at his position.

Jackson’s connection to Arizona State:

The 6-foot-8 230-pound forward is an athletic sharpshooter, averaging 11.4 points on 47.4% from 3 on team thrill on the Under Armour’s circuit. Jackson comes from the Word of God Christian Academy, the same school that Sun Devils Jayden Quaintance and Trevor Best played at before leaving for Tempe.

Quaintance is expected to enter the transfer portal and likely leave Arizona State. It’s hard to comprehend if Jackson’s latest announcement sways the freshman center to stay in the Valley. On the other hand, Best looks to stay put as a Sun Devil to play with his former high school teammate.

Head coach Bobby Hurley has four true freshman commitments for 2025, with Jackson joining Jaion Pitt, Leo Curtis, and Kash Polk. There’s plenty of size in the four commitments, with three of them, forwards and one center, a necessary adjustment after the lack of size with last year’s team.
