It was a balanced game throughout, with the Suns and Kings having answers for one another every minute. Mamadi Diakite led the scoring early for the Suns, with Jalen Bridges and Jaden Shackelford close behind. For the first two quarters, the Suns led the Kings by only one point. They took the lead with them into half-time, 67-66

When the third quarter came around, neither team would give in. This time, TyTy Washington took charge of most of the scoring, with assists from Diakite. Once again, the Suns took the lead into the fourth quarter with more of a cushiony lead, 97-92.

The fourth quarter was much the same as the last three, with both teams sharing the lead throughout the game. Everything started to unravel for the Suns in the fourth quarter at the final minute. After a shot clock turnover, King’s Terry Taylor would score. Suns’ Moses Wood would get a personal foul, allowing King’s Mason Jones to extend the lead to 114-119.

The Suns would not score the rest of the game, losing to the Kings. Washington was again dominant, scoring 39 with 12 rebounds and 13 assists. Diakite also shined, with 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

As a magical first season comes to a halt, this team has made history and only has more history to create in the years to come.
