PHOENIX — Grand Canyon University’s men’s basketball program continues to make strides in the transfer portal, securing another key addition with the commitment of UNLV transfer Jaden Henley.

Henley, a 6-foot-7 small forward, averaged 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game for the Runnin’ Rebels last season. His scoring ability and versatility on the wing make him a valuable addition to a GCU team looking to strengthen its roster during the offseason.

Ranked as the 74th overall player in the transfer portal and the 14th-best small forward, according to 247Sports, Henley brings high-level experience to a GCU program that continues to rise. The Lopes have already landed former Gonzaga guard Dusty Stromer this offseason, showing their commitment to competing at a higher level in the NCAA landscape.

Head coach Bryce Drew has built a winning culture at Grand Canyon, leading the program to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances in recent years. With the transfer portal playing a bigger role than ever in college basketball, GCU has capitalized on the opportunity to attract talent that can help elevate the program.

Henley’s commitment adds another dynamic piece to the Lopes’ roster as they aim to continue their ascent in mid-major basketball. His size, scoring ability, and defensive potential could make him a key contributor for GCU next season.

With the transfer window still open, Grand Canyon may not be done making moves. As the program continues to grow, securing players like Henley proves that the Lopes are a serious contender in the college basketball landscape.
