The Arizona Diamondbacks roster is full of hitting talent, but nobody might have had a hotter start to the season more than Eugenio Suárez.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Suárez, hit two home runs on Friday night for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and could have had three if his third at bat had a couple more feet under it. Add in his homerun from Thursday, Suarez now ties Luis Gonzalez for most home runs (3) in the first two games of the D-Backs season, with Gonzo doing it all the way back in 2001.

Just last season, Suarez was having one of the worst starts of his career, only having a .193 batting average towards the end of June. D-Backs were at a crossroads with Suarez, but held on hoping that things would change. They definitely did, as he put the first half of the season behind him and ended the 2024 campaign with 101 RBI’s and 30 home runs.
Maybe it was his slight adjustments at the plate with his swinging mechanics, the switch up by adding in different high velocity hitting drills into his workouts, whatever it was.. the D-Backs never gave up on him. It’s paid off in the long run.
Suárez mentioned after the game, “Obviously it feels great to have a start like this and like I always say, I just want to keep going and take whatever baseball will give to me.”

Eugenio Suárez, like Merrill Kelly, seems to have good games against this Chicago ball club, as he now has 34 total home runs against them in his career, dating back to his time in Cincinnati as well. Suárez, who might be slowly becoming a fan favorite, is a veteran and massive clubhouse guy as well. Showing he has all the top qualities any team would love to have.
