The Chicago Cubs will send out star and fan favorite Shota Imanaga, making his second ever career start against the Arizona Diamondbacks. His outing in the Tokyo series against the Dodgers showed he has what it takes to play with the best of them, as he went four innings pitched with no hits or earned runs. In 2014, Imanaga had a 15-3 record with a 2.91 ERA
Brandon Pfaadt, who is coming off of a brand new contract extension with the D-Backs, will get the call today. In the 2024 season, Pfaadt held a record of 11-10 along with a 4.71 ERA while having 187 strikeouts. He has pitched decent against Chicago in the past, as his record is 1-1 with only a 2.13 ERA.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have shown on Friday night that their lineup doesn’t just include a couple of stars in Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll, but boasts a lineup full of talent that can strike at any time.
Seeing guys like Eugenio Suárez, Alek Thomas, Pavin Smith, and Geraldo Perdomo do so well at the plate is scary for the rest of the league. If the Diamondbacks can keep some sort of momentum within this group of guys, the rest of the league will soon take even more notice.
The D-Backs look to take the series lead against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday night, first pitch will be 5:10 pm over at Chase Field.
