PHOENIX –The NBA trade deadline is less than 24 hours, and the Phoenix Suns are scrambling to make a big splash. The rumor mill has featured the Suns constantly, with players from guard Bradley Beal and center Jusuf Nurkic the most prominent names. Phoenix’s pursuit of Jimmy Butler has gone stagnant with a belief the chase might be over. However, in recent weeks, forward Kevin Durant has stolen those headlines as reports of the franchise looking to trade the 15-time All-Star.

Beal’s inability to waive his no-trade clause and Nurkic’s limited trade value, the Suns needed to pivot to improve their roster while alleviating some flexibility with its cap space situation. ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst appeared on First Take this morning and reported that the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, and the Suns are discussing a blockbuster three-team trade that could make all sides happy.

The current framework of a possible trade between the three teams would see Durant heading to Golden State, Butler coming to Phoenix, and forward Andrew Wiggins going to Miami. Reports have indicated that the Heat are interested in Wiggins, but according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, Durant has no interests in a reunion with his old running mate Steph Curry.

Butler is suspended indefinitely, and Durant is doubtful for tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with an ankle sprain, so a trade involving the two All-Stars could happen very soon, regardless of Durant’s desire to stay in Phoenix.
