PHOENIX –It’s Waste Management Phoenix Open week, and the excitement from golf fans around the valley is buzzing.
Tomorrow is the Annexus Pro-am that includes sports celebrities like Cardinals’ legend Larry Fitzgerald and more competing on TPC Scottsdale courses before the best the PGA has to offer takes the greens and kicks off the “The People’s Open” on Thursday.
However, implications involving the Phoenix Open have already begun with Monday’s qualifier at Pinnacle Peak Country Club, where three golfers punched their tickets to take part in the event.

Former Georgia Southern golfer Steven Fisk holds up the championship trophy as he celebrates winning the Korn Ferry Tour Club Car Championship at the Landings Club Deer Creek Course on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
The top qualifier was Steven Fisk. The 27-year-old shot -9 at the Pinnacle Peak courses and earned himself a spot to compete in only the fifth PGA event of his career.

Max McGreevy celebrates as he sinks the birdie putt on No. 18 to win the Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS at Panther Creek Country Club on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
The final two slots are tied, shooting -7, with Will Chandler and Max McGreevy joining the field on Thursday. The Phoenix Open will be Chandler’s third event on the PGA tour, but for McGreevy, this will be his second time on the TPC Scottsdale courses.
McGreevy has competed in over 70 events on the PGA tour, but his last time in the Phoenix Open was an unsuccessful one. The 29-year-old was cut after Round 2 after shooting +6 in 2023. He returns two years late to vindicate his shortcomings and make it to Sunday.
