Recap: Devin Booker leads Suns in dominant 130-105 win over Warriors

Devin Booker’s 31 points leads the Phoenix Suns in a dominant wire-to-wire 130-105 win over the Golden State Warriors to begin a four-game road trip.

Along with his 31 points (12-23 FG), Booker added 11 assists and five rebounds. Bradley Beal flanked Booker of the bench with 21 points on 9-for-12 shooting. Kevin Durant added 19 points and six rebounds. Nick Richards dominated the paint, scoring scoring 14 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.

Warriors All-Star guard Stephen Curry had a cold night, scoring just 14 points on 5-for-14 shooting. Moses Moody and Andrew Wiggins led Golden State with 17 points each. Brandin Podziemski added 14 points off the bench.

The Suns play the Portland Trail Blazers Saturday night to finish the back-to-back for the second game of the road trip.

Suns remain dominant in 3rd quarter

The Warriors struggled to get much going out of halftime as a 36-28 third quarter gave the Suns a commanding lead ahead of the final quarter, 98-79.

After a quiet first half, Kevin Durant put together a quality third quarter, scoring nine of 19 total points. Devin Booker (25 points thus far) and Nick Richards added eight points each. Richards snagged six rebounds in the quarter as well, brining his total to 13 through three quarters.

Booker, Suns erupt in 2nd quarter

Devin Booker scored 10 of his 17 points in the second quarter to push the Suns lead over the Warriors to double digits, 62-51.

Grayson Allen also had a huge second quarter, scoring eight points (3-3 FG, 2-2 3-PT) and snagging three rebounds. One of his stellar plays included catching a Booker transition bounce-lob for a dunk. Bradley Beal was the catalyst for a strong start to the quarter, scoring all nine of his points in the beginning of the period. Kevin Durant scored 10 points in the half.

Stephen Curry struggled in the first half. The All-Star starter scored just two points on 1-of-5 shooting. Buddy Hield led the Warriors with 13 points (5-7 FG) in the half. Andrew Wiggins followed with 10 points of his own.

Durant, Booker aid Suns fast start in 1st quarter

Kevin Durant scored nine points (3-of-6 FG, 2-of-3 3PT) and Devin Booker scored seven points and two assists to give the Suns an early lead over the Warriors, 30-27.

Phoenix started the game with great pace and jumped out to a lead as big as four points. Nick Richards was on pace for another big rebound game, snagging seven boards (two offensive) in the opening quarter. The big man grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds just a few games ago.

Buddy Hield and Moses Moody led the Warriors in scoring in the opening quarter with six points a piece.

Injury report

The Suns had a clear injury report as Ryan Dunn (ankle) and Kevin Durant (thumb) played and came out of last game healthy. Phoenix hasn’t had am empty injury report since the game that Dunn suffered his ankle injury.

For Golden State, Kevon Looney (right nasal bone fracture) was made available pregame. Draymond Green (left calf strain) and Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain) were both out.
