While the shots weren’t falling, Phoenix Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer was pleased with the overall effort of his team in a 98-89 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
Leading all players in scoring, Kevin Durant had 35 of the Suns’ 89 points and only Bradley Beal was the other starter to record double-digit points with 11. Giving Phoenix a boost off the bench, Royce O’Neale finished with 14 points as the Suns were 32-for-83 (38.6%) from the field and 13-for-35 (37.1%) from 3.
Budenholzer talked about the offense going cold, liked what he saw by both teams defensively and briefly mentioned Jusuf Nurkić getting into an altercation with P.J. Washington and Naji Marshall.
