Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury majority owner Mat Ishbia has been as transformative an executive that the NBA has ever seen since buying his stake in the Suns in early 2023. And Tuesday, he continued in his quest in revolutionizing the NBA fan experience by introducing a $2 value menu for concessions at Suns games.

“We put the fan experience at the forefront of everything we do,” Ishbia said in a statement Tuesday morning. “The value menu is another investment in our fans and provides options for everyone, ensuring our fans have the best gameday experience in the NBA.

The Michigan State alumnus made a promise to Phoenix fans the day he purchased the Suns that he would do everything he could to make them fans of a premier franchise, from going all in on a trade for Kevin Durant to making eating at home games more affordable for everyone.

The prices of five items on the menu — hot dogs, Dasani water bottles, fountain sodas, bags of chips and bags of popcorns — are going down at least 69% to sit at $2 a piece. What once would’ve costed a family $38 for one of each item now costs just $10.

“A family of 4 used to spend $98 on hot dogs/water/popcorn. Now they can enjoy that same meal for $24,” Ishbia said in an X/Twitter post announcing the value menu. “Our fans and community are the foundation of what we do and we will continue to invest in making this the best organization in all of basketball, on and off the court.”

From the top of the franchise to the items found on the food menu, Ishbia and the Suns brass continue in their quest to making Phoenix a one-of-a-kind premier franchise in the association.
