After defensive back Cole Martin announced his intentions to leave the program on Tuesday, long snapper Cole Marszalek has also put his name into the portal.

“After careful discussion and consideration with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining,” Marszalek said on X/Twitter. “I am thankful for the opportunity and time I had at Arizona State. I want to extend my gratitude to those who stood by me and supported me in my walk with the Lord. I look forward to the next chapter in my athletic and personal journey.”

Marszalek originally came from Millennium High School in Goodyear, and decided to stay in-state for college. The redshirt freshman was the only other long snapper on ASU’s roster besides Tyler Wigglesworth.

There are no statistical markers available for Marszalek.

After spending two years (2023-24) at Arizona State, Marszalek will look elsewhere for another opportunity. According to Rivals, he had received an offer from Texas State while garnering interest from Texas Tech and Arizona before choosing the Sun Devils.

Now that the portal is only about a week and a half away from closing on Dec. 28, the Sun Devils have seen some notable names decide to leave.

Sun Devils in the portal: Marszalek, Martin, defensive lineman Myles Amey, linebacker K’Vion Thunderbird, cornerback LT Welch, safety Kamari Wilson, cornerback Keontez Bradley, defensive lineman Kyran Boudra, defensive tackle Tristan Monday, defensive lineman J’Mond Tapp, tight end Markeston Douglas (transferring to Florida State), wide receiver Kaleb Black and wide receiver Korbin Hendrix.
