Ever since she was selected No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark has been the talk of women’s basketball and caused more people than ever before to watch the league. In every arena she has played in, there is a huge swarm of people chanting her name and wearing jerseys with her name and No. 22 on the back.
For the Fever, Clark was a WNBA All-Star and the league’s Rookie of the Year after averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds in all 40 games. Indiana was swept 2-0 in the first round of the WNBA playoffs by the Connecticut Sun.
Along with Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, Clark helped the league see major increases in terms of viewership and popularity from a year ago. The WNBA grew so much that its new media deal is worth $2.2 billion over 11 years.
As for the Warriors vs. Suns game itself, Golden State made things interesting with a late comeback but fell short, losing to Phoenix 113-105. Devin Booker scored 27 points and Steph Curry had 23.
