Dillingham grew up in Arizona, played high school football there and that seems to help drive the spirit to win. ASU has been an underestimated team time after time, but with the back-to-back winning games and unexpected endings, the city is enjoying the turned-up tone.

Tempe is a college town adjacent to bigger cities Scottsdale and Chandler, with over 180 thousand people, shops, entertainment, and a lake near the ASU football stadium. Perhaps on game days it may feel as if the entire city is outside because on Saturday’s the city rings from the fireworks and rumbles from the crowd. Sparky the mascot amps the students up on campus and fans are out enjoying the city. Definelty a different mood with ASU as Big 12 champion hopefuls compared to last season’s fiasco, that put a cloud over the college football season. That is all in the rear-view mirror now with a coach and team that is taking accountability, progressing, and celebrating one victory at a time.

Exhilarating energy, focus, and thrill as the Sun Devils are preparing for the annual Territorial Cup against University of Arizona Nov. 30, the 9-2 Sun Devils by the sounds of the coach, execution is going to be key. The crowd last Saturday ran on the field to celebrate the squad only to discover the game was not in fact over. This was not the first but the second time there was a chaotic ending that had fans on the edge of their seats, in this circumstance fans on the actual field. Even when the goal post had to be brought back up and eager fans moved behind the sidelines the occasion still did not disappoint fans. Coach Dillingham brought the emotions to the crowd and viewers, undoubtedly the fans could feel the intensity and could not wait to celebrate once the win was confirmed against BYU.

Perhaps it’s the powerful feeling behind winning for an alma mater, nevertheless Kenny Dillingham brings the flames that has the Sun Devil football squad ripping down the field. The valley is activated, the vibes will be alive Saturday afternoon, catch the game, go for a stroll at Tempe Town Lake, hike “A” mountain or shop this season at the marketplace. One thing for sure the city will be lit for another college football Saturday and it’s not just for the holidays.
