The Phoenix Suns’ injury report grew for tomorrow night’s NBA Cup group stage matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Phoenix listed Bradley Beal (left calf strain) and Kevin Durant (left calf strain) as out, while Grayson Allen (right hamstring soreness) and Jusuf Nurkić (left ankle sprain) are questionable. Two-way guard Collin Gillespie (right ankle fracture) remains out.

The Suns (9-3) were without Beal, Durant and Allen and really struggled to find consistent offense in last night’s 127-104 blowout loss to the Sacramento Kings. This was the first game Beal and Allen missed with their injuries, while Durant will now have missed four straight after tomorrow night, as he is out indefinitely with his injury, suffered last weekend. Ryan Dunn and Royce O’Neale started last night’s game in place of Durant and Beal.

Beal’s injury designation is new, as he was previously said to have a left calf contusion against Sacramento. He originally injured himself with just over seven minutes to go in Tuesday’s 120-112 NBA Cup victory over the Utah Jazz. The concern for the timetable for his injury grows now that it is the same as Durant. This will now be his fourth game missed this season after he previously was out two games with a right elbow injury.

Allen has missed three games so far this season after being out against Sacramento, but his new injury only popped up before last night. He has struggled to start the year in a new role off the bench, averaging 9.0 points on only 34.7% shooting, but did put together a solid performance (15 points on 5-of-10 shooting) against Utah Tuesday.

Nurkić missed Tuesday’s win over the Jazz with left ankle soreness after being held out for the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Kings with the injury. He was not on the injury report before last night’s game and recorded three points on 1-of-7 shooting, 11 rebounds (five offensive) and three steals in 22 minutes in the loss.

The Thunder (10-2) also have a lengthy injury report for tomorrow night’s game:

  • Alex Caruso (right hip soreness) OUT
  • Chet Holmgren (right iliac wing fracture) OUT
  • Isaiah Hartenstein (left hand fracture) OUT
  • Jaylin Williams (right hamstring strain) OUT
  • Nikola Topic (left knee surgery) OUT
  • Alex Ducas (G League) OUT

Last game, the Thunder rolled out a starting lineup of all guards of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace and Isaiah Joe. Gilgeous-Alexander, listed at 6-foot-6, was the tallest player in the lineup with all three of OKC’s centers out.

Tomorrow will be Oklahoma City’s first NBA Cup game, while the Suns lead Group C with a 1-0 record. The Los Angeles Lakers (0-0), who won the inaugural NBA Cup last season, are the other team in the group with the Suns, Thunder and Jazz.
