Nurkić had his best game of the season, excelling on both ends, as he ended with 20 points, shooting 6-for-8 from the floor and 3-for-3 from deep (entered tonight 4-for-19 from 3), 18 rebounds and two blocks. On the other side, Bam Adebayo had 12 points on 5-of-21 shooting. Nurkić posted a double-double midway through second quarter.

This was the last matchup of a three-game homestand for the Suns, who will next travel to play the Dallas Mavericks Friday night.

Here are some key quotes (via Suns) and clips from Nurkić’s press conference:

  • On shooting from deep tonight: “Great, I mean it feels great leaving my hand felt great to keep shooting. I appreciate the coaches and the teammates behind them.”
  • On what the difference maker was for you tonight: “I feel like I’ve got the same shots, same games, the coaches put me in a great position to have those looks. Feel like I just made them this game more, I guess. But I feel like every game I am going to have those shots, especially with the players we have and the spacing that we have, like five out. I just need to take my time knocking down the shot. So, I think overall doesn’t change.”
  • On Kevin Durant coming up in the clutch: “Greatness, it’s hard to compliment a guy who does a little bit of everything, competes as hard as anyone, but also when it is time to score, he finds a way to score. It looks like a cheat code man. We all try to run the plays; he just raises up and it’s over. So, I see that, but he is always never phased and never takes it for granted. I feel like he’s a great leader, a great human being, and I am happy for him that he’s healthy and can help us to win the games.”
