The Phoenix Suns are on a six-game winning streak after just being able to get past the Miami Heat 115-112 and the belief between all of the players has translated to a 7-1 record in the early goings of the season.

In every game so far, Kevin Durant has been one of the leaders on the court, scoring 18 or more points in all eight contests as well as not being afraid to faciliate the ball when given the chance.

When asked about what has changed from last year to now with how resilient they are in the fourth quarter, Suns star Devin Booker talked about them being more organized and figuring out things that work before praising one person in particular.

“Kevin Durant is a motherf****** to deal with,” Booker said postgame.

As a response after he heard Booker’s honest words about him, Durant echoed the same sentiment and then some, giving credit to Booker, Bradley Beal and Tyus Jones for what they have done to help his personal play blossom.

“He (Booker) is too. He is opening the floor for me so much they don’t want to leave him or help off of him or Brad or Tyus. They’re MFers to deal with too, which is making it easier for me,” Durant said.

While Beal has missed two games and is still battling right elbow soreness, both Durant and Booker have yet to suffer an injury which is a good sign considering how they have impacted their careers. The trio played exactly half of last season together (41 games) and finished with a record of 26-15 when all three were on the court.

In five of the eight games to this point, Durant has scored 30-plus points. His spotup three is still as dangerous as ever, his length gives him the ability to shoot over almost anyone and his basketball IQ has been on full display.

With the Heat trying to claw themselves back into the game late down 112-110, Durant hit the eventual midrange dagger to secure the win for Phoenix.

Witnessing what just happened, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra talked about his team’s defense doing everything that they could have done but Durant still found a way to make a tough, contested shot.

“On that one, no, no you can’t. He’s at 18 feet, he’s getting to his spot and he’s one of the greatest scorers of all time,” Spoelstra said. “We tried to run guys at him to get to him at that spot… On that one, there was not a whole lot you could do.”

At the rate that Durant is playing, the Suns will continue to reap the rewards of their star player doing everything he can to be the best version of himself that he can be. Along with Booker and Beal, the “Big 3” are well on their way to pushing last season’s disappointment behind them and starting a new journey on a high note.
