Arizona Cardinals punter Blake Gillikin has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 9.

Gillikin averaged 46.8 yards on his four punts during Sunday’s 29-9 blowout victory over the Chicago Bears, and three of his kicks were downed inside the 20.

His best punt of the day came when gunner Joey Blount caught the ball to down it at the 1-yard line in the fourth quarter, and Arizona forced a safety two plays later.

Gillikin is averaging 49.4 yards per punt on 29 kicks this season, his second with Arizona. In 2023, he played in 13 games for the Cardinals and ended as the franchise single-season record holder with an average of 50.6 yards on 51 punts.

This honor comes after Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland won the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October.

The Cardinals have currently won three-straight games and are in sole possession of first place in the NFC West with a 5-4 record. They will host the 3-6 New York Jets this Sunday.
