NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on X: “Trade! The #Broncos are sending edge rusher Baron Browning to the #Cardinals, per sources.”

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals are sending a sixth-round pick to the Broncos in exchange for Browning.

Browning, who will be a free agent in 2025, has totaled seven tackles and one tackle for loss across five games (two starts) this season for Denver (5-4) in a deep pass rusher group. The 25-year-old is known to be injury prone, never playing more than 14 games in a season.

Browning was originally drafted in 105th overall by Denver in 2021 out of Ohio State. In total, he has recorded 114 tackles and 9.5 sacks across 43 games (28 starts) for his NFL career.

Arizona has lost two of its top-3 outside linebackers this season in BJ Ojulari and Dennis Gardeck to season-ending ACL tears.

It took longer than many hoped, but a deadline move for a pass rusher was expected for the Cardinals after their 29-9 win over the Chicago Bears yesterday, as they have now won three straight and boast a 5-4 record, which is good for sole possession of first place in the NFC West.

Even with four season-ending injuries in total on the defensive line, the Cardinals had their best pass rushing performance of the season yesterday with a season-high six sacks against No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.

Already playing their best football of the season, the Cardinals now add Browning into the mix.
