On 3rd and Goal, the Cardinals moved up to the one-yard line off of a penalty by the Bears before Kyler Murray handed the ball to Benson and he scored the first touchdown of his NFL career. He slithered through a pocket of space on the left and between Chicago’s defense to give the Cardinals a 13-6 lead.

Benson, a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, pulled in an 18-yard reception in the first quarter and rushed for another 17 yards to begin Arizona’s fifth drive of the matinee.

The Florida State product has played in all seven games this season and started once. Behind James Conner, Benson had 31 carries for 117 yards and two catches for 12 receiving yards before Sunday’s matchup.

At the time of reporting, Benson amassed five carries for 27 yards for the Cardinals vs. the Bears.

Another first for a Cardinal was that star tight end Trey McBride ran for his first-ever rushing touchdown in the NFL. To open up the scoring, McBride broke the shutout right before the end of the first quarter by rushing into the end zone for two yards.

The Colorado native corralled three receptions for 35 yards before this was published. McBride has started in all eight games this season, totaling 481 receiving yards from 45 catches.

Arizona leads 27-9 over Chicago in the fourth quarter.
