Even though Breast Cancer Awareness Month is slowly coming to an end, The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation and Phoenix Raceway have announced that they have partnered and will offer complimentary 3D mobile mammogram screenings right before NASCAR Championship Weekend begins in November.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! On Nov. 7, the breast cancer awareness campaign of The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation, Breast Believe, and the Raceway will have these screenings at Phoenix Raceway in the GEICO Gecko Campgrounds hosted by Impact One. There will be two other units at the AZ Complete Health Resource Center in Avondale hosted by the Coalition of Blacks Against Breast Cancer.
To qualify for a free screening, individuals must be age 35-plus, not breastfeeding or pregnant currently. No insurance or referral will be required.
“This initiative was well received last year, and we are pleased we can play a part in bringing it back this year for NASCAR Championship Weekend,” Phoenix Raceway President Latasha Causey said in a press release. “Once again, thank you to Breast Believe and The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation for joining our efforts against breast cancer in the community. It truly makes a difference.”
The Breast Believe campaign aims to educate communities about the awareness of breast cancer and how crucial it is to get a diagnosis by early detection, prevention, symptoms, treatments and other resources.
Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald’s mom, Carol Fitzgerald, passed away from the disease in 2003 and with this impacting someone so near and dear to him, Fitzgerald has “made it his mission to provide funding opportunities, resources, and services for women, men and families impacted by breast cancer.”
