The 37-year-old Baynes played for the Suns in the 2019-20 season, averaging a career-high 11.5 points while shooting 35.1% from 3 and 5.6 rebounds across 42 games (28 starts). The big man’s most memorable performance with Phoenix was when he became the only player in NBA history with 37 points, 16 rebounds, nine 3-pointers and two blocks in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers on March 6, 2020.

In total, Baynes played nine NBA seasons from 2012-21 with five NBA teams: the San Antonio Spurs (2012-15), Detroit Pistons (2015-17), Boston Celtics (2017-19), Suns (2019-20) and Toronto Raptors (2020-21). He won the 2014 NBA Finals with the Spurs and averaged 6.0 points and 4.6 rebounds across 522 career regular-season games (168 starts).

Baynes also represented his home country of Australia in the Olympics three times. During the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Baynes suffered a very serious medical condition when he had internal bleeding that was applying pressure to his spinal cord. After a long journey back to the court, Baynes spent his last two professional basketball seasons with Brisbane Bullets in Australia’s NBL.

Now, Baynes has hung up his shoes after a long and memorable basketball career.
