Trey McBride is quickly developing into one of the best tight ends in the NFL, but if he can’t go on Sunday against the Commanders, it might not be as big as a factor as you might think. Arizona’s star tight end left the game this past Sunday against the Lions after being placed in concussion protocol, and hasn’t been cleared to play for this weekends game just yet. Washington currently as a top-5 ranked defense in the league defending against tight ends and has only given up 9 catches for 74 yards and no touchdowns so far this season.
Arizona also has a pretty good backup tight end in Elijah Higgins, who’s already produced in limited opportunities. Through three games, he already has hauled in 4 catches for 41 yards and a touchdown. It will be tough for any tight end to have a big day going against Washington’s defense, but Higgins is more than capable to stepping in if needed.
