Currently with the Visalia Rawhide in Single-A, Jones has raised his season batting average to .275 and has amassed 104 hits in 109 games this year. This marks a significant improvement after playing only 41 games last season due to shoulder surgery that sidelined him for a substantial part of the early season.

Jones has recently been ranked in Keith Law’s top 60 overall MLB prospects and is the Diamondbacks’ No. 2 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.

The Diamondbacks also honored a Minor League Pitcher of the Month, awarding the accolade to José Cabrera. The 22-year-old from the Dominican Republic has been with the D-backs organization since 2021. In August, Cabrera delivered quality starts in four out of his five outings and was also named the Northwest League’s Pitcher of the Month.

On August 24th, Cabrera pitched 8.2 innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out 11 batters. He also threw a seven-inning, one-hit shutout on August 13th.

Cabrera is not currently ranked on MLB Pipeline’s top-30 list for the Diamondbacks.
